Can Dwarves Fish In "Filtered" Water?
« on: December 10, 2008, 07:58:12 am »

If I filter water through fortifications, can the water still be used for fishing?

Will there be less\less types of fish?

Will it still contain deadly carp?

I've seen dwarves fish in water that's been pumped through screwpumps and in completelly built basins, so I'd say there'll be fish alrighty, and no monsters, though you might want to double-layer the fortifications to be sure  ;D

Yeah? Good.

The fortifications are quad-layered, not that they need to be, as the water is entering my water loop through the side of a river and is under no pressure.

One other thing though, my brook is constantly flickering through 7-6-5 water level. In a sort of slidey pattern too. The end of the brook goes off the map at a steep (horizontal) angle, about south-southwest. The brook seems to slowly go down in water level as it reaches the end. Anyone seen this before?

I am thinking if I re-routed the river and led it straight over the edge, that would fix it. Any ideas?

You can't dig the edge of the map, so while you can reroute your brook you can't make it "spill" over a new edge.

I know. I intend to make it go out through the original riverbed, but straight, not at an angle.
