Another alternative for floodgates in case of lack of bauxite : Pumps. Green glass is magma resistant and is the cheapest if you have a patch of sand somewhere. Else, you will have to use stone block and metal parts.

My own siege cleaner device is an incinerator. A 1x1 closed room, with one pump on the side, a glass grate on the floor to drain the magma to a large evaporation chamber below and a dumping zone above.

I just dump everything in it (I don't care about the GCS stuff, my fortress can buy anything just with the obsidian crafts), turn on the pump for a couple of second to set the leather and clothes on fire, wait for a few days and just unforbid all the metal or bone based items left.

Isn't there an option that makes remnants of sieges forbidden on arrival? And by arrival I mean when the goblin that was wearing it is killed.

build a drowning chamber that drains directly onto an armor/weapons/goods stockpile.  It may take a few flushes to get the iron items to travel out of the chamber, but they will get there eventually.

A very, very useful option which has saved many lives.
