I have returned
« on: September 25, 2003, 08:39:00 pm »

France was pretty cool.  Nobody spit on me or anything.  Zonk will be pleased to hear that Italy was well-represented at the conference I attended.

I'm still jet-lagged (9 hour difference), but perhaps things will start getting underway.  I haven't rescheduled my oral exams yet, and there are some other things to sort out (I am broke, for instance).

Good! I was wondering if I would have to make chicken sacrifices again.  :D

I have a blackout every time I turn on the hot plate and the refrigerator at the same time.  The place I'm renting isn't exactly up to code.

NWN was fun for a while.  I had my brother killing kobolds in an adventure I made.  Morrowind was also good while it lasted...  couldn't really replay it though.  I like the shiny water.

Things going slow, per usual...  it's just complicated representing everything.  Weapons were easy...  a sword was just a blade + a handle.  I'm still not quite sure what a shirt is...  if you think of something like a crafted breastplate, it might only fit one person well, and so the item needs to account for that, but something like a tunic just vaguely has a person in mind.  Pfft.  At the same time, shirts should have sleeves that know to fit arms, and so on...  then there are statues...  and simple tools...  and paintings...  and rope, rope sucks...  and candles.  How the hell would a candle even work...  I guess instead of just the wick burning, the wax melts and travels up the wick and burns, so the whole process takes longer, but that's overkill...  hmm...  pfft...

Anyway, yeah.
