Magma Drop
« on: November 29, 2008, 06:44:38 pm »

Hi, me again (with the crazy desert lava moat fortress)

Alright, I'm looking to expand my fortress but a part of the area I want to expand is looking to go 1 z level underneath my lava moat. essentially the lava is on z level -1 and I'm looking to dig out level -2. Might this pose a problem for me*? The rocks are already in a warmed up state and on the dig designation it's popping up as magma being nearby.

*Yes, magma flooding my fort IS a problem for me

No, except it'll interrupt you at every point to warn you about warm stone.

As long as you don't put a hole in the ceiling, the magma will not "drop" down through.

Also, you can manufacture vomit at a smelter.  Subsequently removing the smelter spews vomit over a surprising area.
