Editing the raws
« on: November 28, 2008, 12:00:30 pm »

"Wikipedia said: As with any changes to the raws, it requires a new world."

I find this untrue.  :(

I may edit "flying" tokens with animals, and it doesn't require a new world...Can someone shed some light on this, why our great and all-powerful wiki has abondoned us?

I think when you edit the entity raws or make changes that would, say, add new items to a list of thing you can make (like masks) you need to start a new world.

Pull out the sub-atomic microscope and fix it up to your computer.

The fine print reads as follows; "Except for any minor changes done to animals"

One of the several things that often gets DF branded as a roguelike is that the random number generator can always find some way to screw you over.

you can edit everything except entities w/o creating a new world
but to add or remove entries in any of the raws, you have to create a new world for changes to take effect

one thing that confused me was you can add body parts to creatures, but you can't create new body parts(w/o new world).
