Trouble With Text
« on: April 15, 2002, 03:58:00 pm »

Text on the title screen is screwed up. + title screen takes too long to process input on my computer- the actual game is fine. 3.7 frame per sec/ skipping 5 frames at a time- but text is screwed up in the menus.

ThreeToe's problem related to 32 vs. 16 bit again -- everything works in 32.  Demon's problem has confirmed that some things are fairly out of my hands -- there seems to be something more subtle at work with OpenGL's internal scissoring operations and certain video cards...  it is still probably quite possible for me to deal with this, or at least find a work around.

To this end, I've put up YET ANOTHER version -- All this version includes is an error message if GL has problems.  You must begin a game (ie go through character creation and actually be playing a creature).  Then OpenGL will spit out an error message if it finds one -- I don't get any.  Does anybody else?  If so, tell me what the screen says (it will just be printed in the view much like the FPS counter).  If there are any errors on other computers, then hunting them down might solve some of your problems and will certainly solve something -- perhaps yet another insiduous error waiting to happen.

That said, I'd still like to finish creature variations tonight!
