One-Way Gates

Here's something relatively simple - because it isn't possible to dig out sloped surfaces on the one z-level, it'd be pretty cool if you could help restrict water / lava flow with one-way gates, instead.

By way of explanation, normally you'd make sure that the floor tilts towards the direction you'd want water to travel - for example, roads are often higher in the middle so that water will flow off of their surface.

In Dwarf Fortress, water will spread out in all directions equally, which can make channeling it in the direction required messy or tricky. A one-way gate is a fairly simple construction, merely a hatch that can only swing open in one direction.

This would also help with computing, as it would make many of the devices needed to keep the water and magma where it's supposed to be unnecessary.

Perhaps this would be easier to implement as a one-way valve once we can actually build pipe sections into pipes, rather than piping water through tunnels.

also, ramps are kinda possible, it just means you have to use z levels...
