Breeding question
« on: November 23, 2008, 02:40:56 pm »

Does anyone happen to know if a Giant Jaguar will breed with a normal Jaguar? Both are tame. It's a long shot I guess ;p

Also, as I can't seem to find a clarifying answer on the subject of caged animals breeding, what's it like in 40d? Do caged animals breed or would I have to put them in a pit?

Jaguars and giant jaguars are different animals, the will not breed.
And animals won't breed in a cage, only give birth.

It'd be cool if unicorn refuse gives off rainbow miasma.
It should totally bleed the laughter of children, too.

female creatures sometimes start breeding without any males. i often end up with my horse from the wagon getting foals every year, and the only other tame animals are muskox, dogs and cats

From "Angroshs Kinder" Das schwarze Auge Zwergenhandbuch - (Angrosh Children, the dark eye, german pen&paper, dwarven handbook):
"Elves!? Their men dont wear beards, and their women bathe nacked to lure you into the water and drown you. Thank Angrosh they are as ugly as the day and all big and skinny."

Or the wild ones. I read somewhere that they can breed with them :)

This telepathic sex freaks me out.  I have two female tame wolfs that keep giving cubs from the wild population.  ::)

A giant jaguar with normal... I suppose they could technically be compatible in the real world... The problem would be, it would be like trying to breed a Chihuahua with a German Shepherd.  Both are dogs, but it's a little painful to imagine them breeding.

And I've had a dead cat give birth before.  That was more than a little freaky.
