On new abilities as mentioned in dev.

Toady1 mentions some splitting up of several sentient attributes.

The mental-stuff has been subdivided pretty much.

However there is no attribute to indicate "curiosity", a fundamental indicator of intelligence.

One could argue this will be emergent from intuition and lack of patience or whatever, however I have some doubts about that. 

So: will dwarves eventually have urges to investigate a chasm or that gurgling sound behind the locked bauxite door?
Willpower will certainly have an impact on resisting clandestine/hurtful urges, satisfying urges should result in pos. thoughts, regardless of negative consequences.
e.g.
"Has satisfied his curiosity lately?" (+happy) ,
"Was stung repeatedly by ants recently." (remembers ants as painful, +patience)
 ...attributes are mutable after all.


Let us discuss the potential of the revised attributes here.

wait.....were the ants stings a result of the curiosity?

and why would patience increase?

heh. yes.
dwarf-child was curious of anthill, investigated it and got stung. The sting hurt and thus she learned to be more patient...or at least be more carefull about satisfying curiosity, like by asking mature dwarves about ants. ;)

Is there such a thing implemented as urges or variable urgency job-ques?
(I know something like it was planned)

Keep in mind that personality traits are separate from mental attributes -- there's an INTELLECTUAL_CURIOSITY personality facet already.
