Key bindings - arrows vs numpad
« on: November 14, 2008, 11:26:21 pm »

Interface.txt has an entry for UP, DOWN, PAGEUP, etc, but when I use these they don't work at all - I want to use these mappings instead of 8, 2, etc. What's the point of having them there? And why do the mappings that just "1" etc use the numpad instead of being "NUMPAD1" (which is also present in interface.txt)

You should edit the keymap using the in-game keybinding menu. It's on esc->key bindings.. note that you have to explictly save it after changes with s, or it won't be around later.

Why doesn't editing interface.txt work as expected though?

And that doesn't sound like it'll help it tell the difference between the arrow keys and the number keys.
