Military Command Chain screen (m) view weapons and armor (m), there's a column of numbers, third from the right.  They are either white or pink, and can be set to #1 or #2.  What do they mean?

it sets the number of weapons the dwarf carries. some weapons can get "stuck in" the victim, meaning that the dwarf cannot get it out again. carrying two weapons allows him to keep fighting, instead of wrestling.
