Can you edit embark profiles to give an advantage?

I noticed there's a new init where you can modify the embark profiles (They're greatly useful in themselves)

Could you modify them to more than you'd be allowed to ingame? Like say, to the equivalent of two or three thousand points of equipment?

No... it doesn't work...

It will allow you to set up 1 super godly legendary dwarf (beyond the 10 limit) but it won't let you exceed the point limit.

It also won't let you go over "proficient" in any one profession.

It's really quite nifty, an error message pops up saying "Sorry, you can't afford this"  And everything.  *was impressed*

I wonder if he added that error because of the new feature, or if it's been in there a while and he just coded well enough that it caught things trying to fall through the cracks.

The Embark Editor for Dtil can allow you make legendary dwarves in whatever quantities you want, which is probably the fastest and most effective way for now.
