[40d] Error on "continue playing"
« on: October 18, 2008, 09:19:40 am »

Just got through my first year of playing, saved and quit normally, and then i get an error on startup any time i try and play that fortress.
"One of the compressed files on disk has errors in it. Restore from backup if you are able" (Don't have a backup, new install and forgot the init.txt  :'()
And then DF exits. It didn't occur on any other of my fortresses, and I'm not sure how to even troubleshoot the issue.
It's not an important fortress, but I've also never heard of anyone having this issue before.

Edit: Forgot to add that I'm using Mayday graphics pack, if thats relevant.

Try picking "Properties" on "dwarfort.exe" and choosing "Windows 95" on the Compatibility mode.

Without a compatibility setting I used to have a 50% chance of getting a compression error on loading a manual save, with auto-saves seeming to always work. This is with Windows XP 64-bit.

Although looking at my binary again, Windows lost my compatibility setting and I haven't had a problem lately... hm....
