Read the instructions, then get to Level 3
« on: October 31, 2002, 12:31:00 am »

That's right.  I've posted another...  game.

Look for it at the Curses Arcade.

Well, I beat it once through and then died on the 3rd circle...  Score about 18000

I think my max is like circle 6 or 7 (once through) with like 26000...  it just gets hard to dodge all the flung crap.

Did you walk through the brown "slime" trails and make tracks?

No, I try to avoid the slime left behind...  You DO realise that the 8th level is by far the hardest, dont you?  Theres a few too many demons flinging stuff around for it to be anything but pure luck.

The 8th level is the hardest, but I think you can improve your odds a bit...  I made that fort in the center that they can't hit you in (as long as you stay in the middle square), and you can do little forays from there.  Although I usually try to run for a corner...  I can dodge the crap most of the time.  Once you've gone through the game once, you have to watch out for the yellow guys too, but you might be able to time them out (wait for them to get destroyed by crap).  I have no idea if that would work.  Maybe it is almost impossible by that point.

Not that it's relevant.  It'll be a few more curses projects before I actually make one with some replay value.

One of them is in that style (this means using extended ASCII characters like "219" to make animated cartoon that do untoward things to each other)...  the other one is more XXX I guess -- more like XXX.  Those are the more serious projects.  You know, ones that might actually be playable, even fun.  I'll try to finish them during Christmas (the time when I can't work on Armok instead).

In the meantime some more garbage-ass projects might slip between the cracks.  Writing them is a bad habit, like... inhaling your own flatulence in a crowded enclosure.  I also have a non-curses "game" that has been nearly ready to release for a year now, but I haven't gotten around to it.  It just needs some sound, maybe.
