need help with a recycling mod
« on: October 07, 2008, 11:52:04 am »

i want to be able to make a mod that will take ANYTHING and turn it into raw material through a pretty long process(something like 5-10 steps), this will probably take a while, but one major thing i need to know a type of material that i can use that will not appear for anything except used in reaction, possibly something that can stack alot into bins

Make a stone with no layers.

Make a reaction that creates blocks of that stone.

 Tadaaaaa!

Unfortunately, I don't remember what tags you need to do such a thing. But it can be done.

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

Ok...just to let people know, i'm going to use large gems that can only be found in small clusters of themselves...making it imposible to find in the world, now...anyone know any uses for large gems besides trading?(which should be useless with thier value set to 0)

There are many issues with this statement.

I know you can use Large gems in reactions for additional materials, an example of this (if my 'dworf' notes are correct) is Sean's wootz steel reaction which uses a Large Green Glass. By default tho, they have no purpose aside from being an additional trade good.

Thus you can mod in some uses for them, as it looks like you're doing.

Just use a rock without an environment.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Just use a rock without an environment.
i tried that, although the "rock" could be used to make a wall, which is what i'm not wanting, so new large gems seem to work well by having a low wieght and is stackable. i'm planning something along the lines of breaking down something like some cloth armor into cloth residue which requires the cloth and a processed inedible plant
