[40D] Archery target? TOAD SMASH!

Great fun this one. I found an undwerground river, tamed some giant toads. I make an archery range a little later, and my game freezes. It sorts itself out, I expect to face a few dozen goblin ambush groups since that sort of lag usually is caused by a bunch of things suddenly needing pathfinding. I get a stack of messages  - Giant toad (tame) has destroyed archery target! I look at my archery range, lo and behold, every toad I have is hopping about in there, bouncing across the ruins! no matter how many doors I place and set to dwarf only, they all gather on the other side of them, slamming against the doors over and over, slowing my game to a crawl with constant FIND ME A PATH OH GOD GOTTA SMASH and they wont stop! I have other animals with the building destroyer tag, but they don't care! it's only the toads that have an unquenchable fury regarding targets.

Have people noticed this more generally?  Is it the map feature creatures that are have the trouble?

Maybe it has something to do with the building destroyer tag.

My modded in race would visit with a caravan, and proceed to run around messing up my statues and archery ranges because they had the level 1 building destroyer token.

Ex:
"Hi Urist, we've got some goods here today, and......IS THAT AN ARCHERY TARGET!?!?! *SMASH* Where was I? Oh yes, we have some Plump Helmets in stock...."

Recently I've been playing Legendary Lands mod, with hobgoblins as a friendly race. And I had to abandon a perfectly organized fortress just because two hobbos kept demolishing the whole area, which unsurprisingly pissed me off. Farm plots, beds, workshops, depot - didn't matter for those wankers. Building destroyer tag for hobbos is reasonable, for they are uncivilised savages, but there should be a way to attack them. Bringing a fortress to its knees isn't exactly a "friendly behaviour".

It's not like I haven't tried, but building a mech out of bridges may be a tad above my engineering skill.

the pathfinding is a huge problem, building destroyer not so much

animals and other creatures stuck behind doors lag the game
