EXTREME wrestling?

I recently received a message that one of my champions had starved to death. I went over to the barracks to inspect and found another champion exhausted and starving as well, heading away from the corpse and towards the food stockpile.

Is it possible for a sparring match to go on for THAT long? That'd explain the incredible speed with which wrestlers level up.

I've never heard of anything like that.  If he starved to death, it's more than likely because he got some kind of sparring injury and nobody thought to bring him any food.

Man, I wish that Combat Reports worked for 40d.

How do you explain the other starving dwarf then? Or the fact that he wasn't anywhere near his bed? (although, I suppose, technically in the barracks. Still, the bed was unoccupied.)
