Universe Exchange Program
« on: September 30, 2008, 01:25:22 am »

I realise this sort of happens in the yearly hand-off games, but what I'm sudjesting is that each person develops their universe for, say, 50 years after the history stops, peppering the landscape with various dwarven settlements with unique features and generally affecting the world in whatever way you please.  Then everyone loads their various universes to some storage area (I'm not very smart about this, so any site sudjestions for hosting this would be great) and downloads a different one, then you go in and explore a truly unique world.
People who like to use mods could leave a small note in the file in the form of a text with any nessisary information.

Be interesting to try.

But I bet you'll have some worlds where everyone and everything is dead before long ;)

How about a single "succession world", where each person in turn creates a fortress or two with ridiculous traps, tombs and labyrinths. Then after everyone's had a go we all could use it for adventure mode and die on eachothers horrible creations. Community content creation!

That'd be cool, too, if everyone ONLY played in Dwarf Mode, never in Adventure until it was decided the universe was ready to be "tried".  That way everything else in the world (leaders, monsters, et al) would still be there, plus all these crazy dwarven ruins.

That's already been tried before. In fact, there's a thread in the adventure mode forum about this.

Nothing new under the sun, eh?

So where is a good place to upload this sort of thing?  Anyone have any idea?  Either way (as a series of universes each done by one person, or as one done by many) it'd be fun to do.
