So I was minding my own business, waiting for my bridge over the chasm to be completed so I could wall up my temporary entrance when suddenly I get this message.

A few levels down in the chasm lives a Gremlin which I planned to catch and tame some day, my question is this: I know that if a creature has killed it cannot be tamed because it's received a name, right? Well, this gremlin hasn't killed anything but it has a name, can I still tame it?

When things in my chasm randomly got names I assumed it was because they were killing each other. This holds because now there is nothing left alive in my chasm and I didn't clear it.

A stopped clock is right for exactly two infinitessimal moments every day.
A working clock on the other hand is almost never ever exactly right.

They're only deadly if they've gotten a taste of the sweet blood of your dwarves
