Dwarf Fortress TV Tropes article
« on: September 15, 2008, 03:14:21 pm »

For those of you who don't know tvtropes, it's a that lists all known tropes, which are described by tvtropes as "devices and conventions that a writer can reasonably rely on as being present in the audience members' minds and expectations. On the whole, tropes are not clichés. The word clichéd means "stereotyped and trite." In other words, dull and uninteresting."

It's really quite fun to read but if you do want to look at this site i have a warning for you. TV tropes will change how you watch TV and movies, and play video games forever

He's the link to the TV Tropes home page. Read at your own risk.

With that out of the way, if anyone who knows the site would like to make any suggestions for additions to the Dwarf Fortress page, please do. I took the liberty of filling it out already, but i may have missed something.

So what do you guys think of the page.

Besides the spelling mistakes, and no mention of carp. I believe it is a fine example of an article.

Better: List of ALL articles referencing DF. Of course, you will need to dig through a bunch of stuff to see the DF references.

Also, prepare to loose the next five hours.

Carp are mentioned in the Dwarf Fortress example for Good Bad Bugs.
As for spelling mistakes- this is a wiki. Fix it yourself if it bothers you.

God damn it.  I said I'd only read through the DF page.  It's been a half hour, and I'm reading about Final Fantasy now.

By the way, I added the zergelves bit under Good Bad Bugs some time ago.

Well...the first time.  Each successive trip will cost you half as much time.  YMMV.

I added a little more than half the examples. I didn't really worry about the summery, if anyone wants to add anything i think we should think it up here.

Edit: On a side note i feel stupid for missing that body search thing. How did i miss the trope Elaborate underground base. Damn it
