Water + Bridges
« on: September 13, 2008, 06:22:51 pm »

I've been trying to make an aquaduct, my fortress is a large pillar surrounded by a chasm and I'm trying to get water in to it, I thought that water travelled across bridges, my bridge was 2 tiles wide and it overflowed over the edges, so then I tried one 4 tiles wide and it still overflowed.

What am I doing wrong?

Build walls on either side of the bridge to stop it from going over the sides. Build a roof to keep it from overflowing.

You can still use a retractable bridge for the floor. You just need to connect the walls to a solid foundation and they won't collapse.
