Human forms of government
« on: September 15, 2008, 05:26:50 am »

I was just playing with ParseDFLogs and found out that not one human civilization ever had a monarchy as form of government.
All human nations have "This civ has never known a king".

So what is their form of government? A confederation of independent city states (like in greece in pre roman and pre macedonian times)? The history seems to suggest such a thing.

And has anyone ever had a human monarchy?

Heh, this could actually lead to a pretty interesting string of politic-related additions.
I'd love to choose exactly the way my fortress is run.

... Humans will be allowed a free-form civ level structure (they don't even have one now) allowing them to form and split site groupings while maintaining a strict site structure...

Yeah, it'll be neat when Toady gets all the high level civ structure stuff in place. I'd love to see Human Kingdoms, Chiefdom, Republics. Even groups that are only loosely based on a tribal structure, and mostly war amongst themselves.
