One of my peasants took to a fey mood and created a bed out of granite. I don't think this is supposed to be able to happen. Am I wrong?

Although this happened in version c, I didn't realize what happened until after I upgraded to d.

If that's a bug, I hope it never gets fixed. Once in a great while a dwarf makes something awesome like that. Definitely not something I'd complain about.

To answer your question, though, it happens periodically. You can even get things made out of glass that really shouldn't be (cages, weapons) and things made of stone that you'd probably rather not have irl (beds, barrels)

the most frequent material glitch is certain things made of toad bone
the bed thing is totally intended....
that only goes for certain areas where 2 materials share a large number of created items.

toad bone items are usually a glitch
