No, I'm still reading,  ;) praying to Amok that I go into a Fell/Macabre mood and murder the countess  ;D

By the Way Keldor, the humans can sit around their little camp fires anywhere from two days to two seasons from my experience, which is annoying. If you're lucky, they'll get attacked by a goblin siege.

Interest does seem to be dwindling though. Perhaps we need a "embark anywhere" hack'd All savage evil mountain succession? perhaps in the same region as a goblin fortress (I think proximity has to do with frequency of harassment, but I could be wrong).

That would be hard to survive. Especially if there is no surface water, only an underground river, have to battle for every drop, and flood for farm land...

Ahh crap, now I'm tempted to go make one.

26th Hematite, 1058:

The Mayor has mandated the construction of brass items.  This is a problem.  I haven't seen a scrap of copper in all the time I've been here, except perhaps for some of the junk the kobolds dragged in.

<DF crashed again... back to the 25th or so >.< >

25th Hematite, 1058:

Jakey seems a little odd today.  He abruptly dropped what he was hauling and ran off in another direction, all without saying a word.



Later, as I was heading to make some crafts, I noticed that one of my personal shops had been barricaded with tables, chairs, and even a couple statues from the furniture stockpile.  When I asked what on earth was going on, I was told that Jakey had been seen heading in there with one of the statues.  When I returned, I looked through a crack in the barricade, and sure enough, there was Jakey, working feverishly drawing some sort of plans.



27th Hematite, 1058:

The Mayor just mandated brass items.  We have enough zinc, but the only copper we have is whatever the kobolds brought in.  I suppose we shall have to melt some down.


Something appears to be wrong with the save.  It keeps crashing a few days into Malachite - I think overall it's happened 5-6 times.  :-(

Perhaps something blows up with the human caravan trying to appear at the same time the humans are sieging the fortress??  Anyway, I'll put the save up for Toady to look at.  We may end up having to roll back my entire turn, since the seasonal autosave also led to the same crash.

Btw, If you're having trouble at that one date, why not try one steps past it? Pause it and press the "." button until your past. That (should) work :P

If it doesn't I'm afraid this DF newbie can't help you :D

Woohoo!  Toady's fixed the crash bug for the next version.  Looks like all is not lost after all ;-)
