Difference between grip and lock, and how to lock.
« on: August 30, 2008, 11:14:19 pm »

I can do all the grip actions like take-down, pinch, gouge and so on, but I need to change to lock to break limbs. However, I don't know how to procede to lock when I've grabbed a limb. I'm doing it with wolves though, so that might have something to do with it.

From my experience, I've only been able to do lock/breaks on bipedal creatures in adventure mode, but I could just be doing it wrong.

Wolves currently have no joints to lock.  Only humanoids have joints.

How are you wrestling with them? By using the arrow keys or by using [SHIFT]+a? Because in the second case, you can break limbs.

I fixed the quadrupeds' joints in the Martial Arts mod.

Grab them with a limb, not with a finger or something. If it STILL doesn't work, try using a hand - I'm not sure, but I think you may only be able to break feet with hands. I can break elbows, shoulders, knees and hips fine with just an upper or lower arm grip on the joint in question. You should see an option at the top of the list that says "lock [name of gripped part] with [gripping part]",
