Various quick questions you might be able to help with.

1. Is there some way I can make a creature eat only fish and mussels and things?
2. Is there a scale for the size token? Like, does 1 size = 1ft since human is what.. 6? Or is there an equation to figure it out?
3. Are tail weapons possible? Would something like this work: [ATTACK:MAIN:BYTOKEN:TAIL:tailwhip:tailwhips:3:5:BLUDGEON]
4. In the Raw/Objects folder, are the names of the files like 'creature_large_temperate.txt' hard-coded or can I change the name without causing problems?

The first part of the name has to be what it is.
Creature, Reaction, Matgloss, Item, Body, etc.
Otherwise, you can change it all you want.
Just make sure you change the first line of it to match, though, as that's the filename sans .txt
No, no fishivore tag.
There's no scale to my knowledge.  It scales up damage and damblock though.
I don't know about the particular line, but yes, a creature can attack with any body part if you set it up correctly.

The answer to #3 is yes, you can have tail attacks.
one of my creatures has this: [ATTACK:MAIN:BYTOKEN:MACE_TAIL:swipe:swipes:1:3:BLUDGEON][ATTACKFLAG_WITH]
and its so fun to see carcasses go flying from that attack

For #4. you can change it as long as you rename the first line in the .txt the same thing you called the document.
So if you call it creature_mutant.txt, the first line when you open it should also be creature_mutant

1) No, as far as I know.
2) The formula of a creature size is complex and unknown and damage and defence outputs increase dramatically with the size growth. And definitely numbers are not the height only. It determines the whole creature size, strength, defence and toughness in general. Just use this comparison picture.

3: cats, fish, fire imps
4: gremlins, ratmen, batmen, antmen
5: dogs, kobolds, frogmen, wolves
6: goblins, dwarves
7: humans, elves, other *men, satyrs, donkeys, beak dogs
8: mules, werevolves
9: horses, cows, trolls, ogres, unicorns, minotaurs, sasquatches
11: treants, spirits of fire
12: frog demons, tentacle demons, ettins
16: demons, giants, cyclopi
20: dragons, titans, colossi

3) THese are not weapons, these are attacks. You can attack with any bodypart. Use "BYTYPE" to attack with any bodypart which has this type (grasp, head, limb, stance, upperbody etc.) or "BYTOKEN" to name a specific bodypart.

4) Actually creature_* etc. are for us to know what do you put inside. The game knows it by reading the [OBJECT:TYPE] inside of the file. You may add as many new files as you want. Also, as it has been said, the first string in the txt file should be the name of this file without the extension.

I am slightly disgruntled of the fact that cows are so much larger than humans.

Go crouch down on all fours next to a cow and take a comparison.  They're a lot thicker than the average human, and weigh about ten times as much as the average human as well.  If that's not deserving of two size categories above humans, I don't know what is.

The real problem would be if you were a Dwarf, and worked in the dairy industry.  Dwarves just can't understand how you can milk something you can't pick up with one hand!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cow#Anatomy

"A newborn calf weighs 25 to 45 kg (55 to 100 lb)" - 45 is almost like a grown-up girl!

"Steers are generally killed before reaching 750 kg (1,653 lb)." - lol can you weight so much? :)

"The world record for the heaviest bull was 1,740kg (3836lb)" - I doubt there was such a record by a man :).

So it's ok here. Totally.
