(39f) Merchants won't finish unloading
« on: August 20, 2008, 09:19:32 am »

I hope I'm doing this right.

http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=453

This is a save of my current fortress "Battlegreed" showing the merchants stuck perpetually unloading their wagons.  When I played the game before, they never would trade with me.  Then, once it became fall, they announced that they were leaving, but wouldn't move out of the depot until I deconstructed it, at which point they moved away at a glacially slow pace.  When you load the save file, the offending trade depot should be centered in the screen.

For a year since this happened, trade has worked normally, but it was pretty strange to see this and I thought I'd upload a save, since I had one.  I notice that this bug is mentioned (#137) on the bug page, but it shows as fixed.

Could it be Bug 239?  If there's so much as a macaque around they'll often become disconnected from reality.

Well, if I recall right, there was a goblin ambush while the merchants were on the way to the fort, but the goblins were all wiped out before the merchants got to the depot.  Would that make them get stuck perpetually unloading?

I think it all it takes is a merchant seeing a goblin (or a macaque) and having the flight reaction.  Could be something else though.
