The most effective ammo, however, would probably be the obvious choice

I kinda hope all the large weapons will make it into Seige weapon, or just Weapon platform, form eventually... Imagine a Serrated disk Launcher

Would need to be a balista or giant crosbow like desing, but other then that, serated disks ought to be usefull on short distances. Also, grapeshots and chain shots would be powerfull weapons in closer combat, not to speak of the effects of launching caged fire imps into the fray
