Pick stockpile type from an existing stockpile
« on: August 28, 2008, 12:31:29 pm »

You know how you have the eyedropper tool in drawing programs which allows you to pick an exact color from the image? I want that in Dwarf Fortress for stockpiles.
I have lots of different kinds of custom stockpiles. If I have to move a custom stockpile it brings a lot of excess work because I have to tweak the stockpile settings again. If we had an option to pick stockpile type from an existing stockpile it would make moving complicated stockpiles much more easier.

Or even be able to save your custom stockpile settings like you can your embark profile, so in addition to the standard stockpiles you can just select your shell stockpile or your bauxite vault from a previous game? (I know . . . those two are easy . . . just the quickest examples off the top of my head . . .)

But yeah.  Dropper = Good.

I like Chthonic's idea of saved custom stockpile settings like the embark profiles. I think thats a wonderful idea.
