"Now sit still, my son, for tonight I will explain to you our history. Listen to my words and they will describe to you where, it is, the Massive Pillars come from, and why they live on Omen.
Long before there was an Omen, before there was buildings, or dwarves or even time, there was Kikrost. She existed and took up everything, all space, and was unchanging. She knew everything except where she had come from, so naturally to question racked her mind. She pondered, endlessly and with all knowledge, but could find no answer. Eventually her focus comsumed all her thoughts and she knew she must find an answer. So she created something, the very first creation, something with which she could examine herself in the only way unavailable. She would destroy herself by creating death, and continue self observation to virtue to her endless nature.
So with her own hands she strangled herself until dead and, in doing so, gave birth to the dead reflection of herself; Tolmud the Sculpted Eviscerator. In her new, skeletal form, there was space for other things, and her bones would contain them and limit them, and death would reign over them so that no thing should become like to herself, endless. The flesh that remained became Limul. Limul, being brainless, randomly grew and spread, half alive, half dead, until he formed the surface and depths of Omen.
Tolmud was enraged at her brother Limul and saught to contain his wild expansion, which flew in the face of her nature. She adopted a second dominion, a new concept in order to stop him. Death was inevitable, she had made sure of that, but now she saught to hasten it, to bring life under her thumb. So she created war.
She raged at Limul, creating Udil, and gave him the throne of the moon to keep him happy. From there he watched his uncle, using the night to cage his form and darkness to shroud his path. But for there to be war both sides must be aware that it is happening, and Limul was mindless. This imbalance lead to the creation of Datan, who watched his cousin from the seat of the mountains of his father, raising up above the darkness created on there majestic backs.
Finally, these forces needed soldiers to wage their war, in order for there to be conflict and outcome, the only two truths of war. Kikrost saw her families need and took from each of them a small piece and placed the myriad races apon the earth. Each was made of a different combination of her prodgeny.
Thus you see we have the 3 spiritual worlds: At the highest, and most important, is the House of Worlds, wherein dwell Kikrost (at the houses head), and Tolmud the Scupted Eviscerator and Limul as her house keepers. Next, the House of the Skies, wherein dwell Datan and Udil in enternal struggle. Finally, the House of Souls, wherein dwell the spirits of Omens creatures, created in Kikrosts' forced sacrifice.
In this dwell our most familiar figures. Datan, loving the Dwarves most of all created the dearly loved Nish Inkyoils, his daughter, and placed her form all through Limul, binding him to her, and then her to us. Thus we celebrate gems and jewels of all sort, and we invoke her name in matters of wealth and trade as reminders of our connection. And if you look at a gemstone closely, a well polished and cut one, you can see both the dull, mindless nature of Limul and the swirl of life from Nish Inkyoils.
Tolmud, angry at loosing a piece of herself due to her own miscalculation, and still not satisfied with the rate of death on Omen, especially amoung the animals, created Onol, the act and the need to hunt and fish. Onol, however, took her duty more seriously than Tolmud had anticipated, and grew to love the animals under her sway, and granted all the races the ability to live off of the plants and roots on Limuls' surface. Tolmuds' anger grew, and she took on a third aspect, that of fortresses, and she doomed us all with that. For, you see, above this, above all this, a reigning over a million other houses, in a million other times, is Armok, the Bloody. And It requires only one thing, ceasation, finality, the very last end. It is at the heart of every culture, every religion, every war that rages across our land and others, in our reality and others, and it will always be this way.
But I digress; the final two members of the house of houses where created by the very lives of the dwarves themselves. There are two virtues and two vices which are the measure of a dwarves spirit: generosity and charity, which belong to Tustem Truepeaceful and his fey kindred; and lust and depravity, governed by Oshen Fragranttribe and her wild tribewomen.
And so you have, my son, heard the tale of Omen and our peoples' creation. How these figures affected our growth on Omen and our leaders will have to wait for another time."
