[40c] Violent king
« on: August 23, 2008, 07:39:02 am »

I got my king just a few moments ago. He stood just stood there on the edge of the map with his queen consort and advisor (the guards and peasants came in). I thought maybe he'll come in once goblins siege and start harassing him so I let it be. But before long human caravan came in and to my surprise my king ferociously attacked them, killing the guards and at least one merchant, the rest ran away. The king is listed in the units screen as friendly and the humans as merchants, and neither of which triggered my traps. After his killing spree, the king returned to his place on the edge of the map.
Even if the dwarven civilization the king came from is a mortal enemy of humans I hope the king could forgive and forget, because human caravans are really important to my ironless, fluxless fortress.

A goblin siege came and with the help from elven guard slaughtered my king, queen consort and advisor. Does anyone have an idea what will happen? Will there be another king, possibly selected from my population or the heir of the late king and queen or will the dwarven civilization from which the royals came (and most likely were still part of as they didn't show up in my nobles screen and were "friendly" in units list) attack me for not keeping them safe?

Positions are refilled, albeit slowly

Losing the trader representatives is a pain in the ass since you can't order things for quite some time but other than that, kill all the nobles you want

Just don't expect immigrants too soon. They take noble deaths very seriously
