Alright, so I registered on the forums, singularly because of how I personally felt the replies to this post were needlessly hostile in viewpoint of my own.

The entire point of what PTTG? was saying, again, from my viewpoint and opinion, was to help Toady get donations by offering a little extra. The extra itself is meaningless because of the free image hosting sites. It seems all of the previous posters completely overlooked the donation aspect as something to further help toady and the progress of Dwarf Fortress.

On that note, PTTG?, I suggest you try having an automated service such as paypal, that the person 'uploads' the image file, then pays through paypal (in a link on the upload page), before they can see the image/get a public link for it.

Personally, I like it. But I'm still going to just donate directly to Toady, as I need no image. You have my personal thanks for at least attempting to further his progress and make a better game overall, PTTG?.

With all due respect to Kayla and PTTG?, I don't know either of you from adam or eve so how can I know this isn't some cheesy scam?  I'm with everyone else, host it for free and donate directly to Toady, and if I were toady I would have this looked into legally to see if it is indeed a scam as it would be him that is hurt by it.

Well, that would have to be up to you to decide, I suppose, on whether we are the same person or not. Although I hope were not, we can throw some DNA dynamics around, you know, just for fun.

In any case, someone could donate, then we could ask Toady if he got it. If he didn't, then someone loses a dollar, posts it on here, and no one ever trusts him again.

But seriously, I have found that, through my very frequent reading (and not posting, as I think this is my third ^_^), the majority of Dwarf Fortress players are rather intelligent and friendly. While I wouldn't put it past anyone to try and take advantage of another person, I would at least have a credible sense of some trust in the friendliness and intelligence shown on an overall basis to reckon a single dollar attempt to not be a scam.

If that made any sense, you get Kayla Points. Yupyup.

Anyways, as I have mentioned previously, I think its a nice thing, but, I'm still going to donate directly to Toady just for the sake that, I don't need a picture, and I know it'll get there. But those who want to host some cool Dwarf Fortress hand-drawn awesome art and still want to contribute money. This could be a way. Otherwise, Iunno.

OK, I get the message, I won't offer hosting here. Just to be clear, though, when I said that the cost was a dollar, I meant that I just wanted you to donate to Toady One directly.

Specifically, $0.67 to Toady and $0.33 to Paypal.

If you want to donate a dollar to Toady, you'll have to donate $1.34. $1.00 will go to Toady and $0.34 to Paypal.
