Bwhahahah!

I have two hunters working pretty hard and it looks like they killed some animal right next to the river? all the blood is flowing downstream.

I have a river of blood!

My fisherman got into a fight with a Giant Toad at the cave river. It not only turned red, but the walls on either side got painted for as far as I could see  :D

I remember when my cadre of marksdwarves shot and killed an elephant outside my (now abandoned) Serene fortress.  The trickle of blood into the river was one of the most rewarding things I've ever seen in a computer game.

My first experience with this was when my founding mechanic got ambushed by snakemen while working on the bridge. It was a poignant scene watching the river running red. To this day his blood runs down the walls of the river channel, a fitting memorial for the dwarf who worked so hard securing the crossing for others.

Numerous lizard- and frogman battles on my bridges have similarly stained my cave rivers red.  IMO, it would be a slight realism improvement if the cave river overflowing washed that stuff off, but it's so minor as to be barely worth mentioning.  ;)

That happened to me too.  A group of chimps were walking towards the fortress and I decided to teach them a lesson.  A good wrestler charged the chimps and attacked.  The first chimp was directly in the middle of the 1X1 bridge I just built.  The gore was so massive that I wondered how a chimp could hold so much blood.  The group of chimps ran away at the sight of the massacre.  :)
