Scrolling and larger screen sizes (39f)
« on: August 14, 2008, 08:54:44 am »

Okay, so after hearing about how we can display ore tiles on screen at a time, I decided to check it out. Set the respective options to allow for a almost-fullscreen, and started a fortress.

A little low on the framerate, but I'm sure that has been reported before. Okay, now for looking around.

It seems that when designating something(Lets say digging), the cursor scrolls the map when it reaches the edges of the old viewable area, not the new one. So say you have a viewable area of 100x100 tiles. Instead of scrolling when the cursor reaches the five to ten tiles away from the edges, it scrolls when taken out of an invisible area in the upper-left corner of the screen the size of the normal viewable area.

I hope this makes sense. I just want to be able to look around my fortress without the screen changing every five seconds as I designate stuff.

Buck up friendo, we're all on the level here.
I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.
