Modding Immigrants ?
« on: September 11, 2008, 02:50:27 pm »

Is it possible to mod the number (probabilty/limit/frequency) of emmigrants ?
I would like to tone it down a bit.
I want my population to grow slower.

Thanks, if someone can help.

Indeed you can. Open up init.txt in \data\init\ and find the line: [POPULATION_CAP:200]

Change it to, say, [POPULATION_CAP:20] and then up it every few years (by saving, closing DF, editing the text file and loading your save again) to make it higher.

Yea... that's what i am doing now...  ;D
But it's not fully satisfying...

I was hoping it would be somewhere in the res files, so i can cut the chances - making migrants allways possible, but unlikely - so allways someting to be happy about.
"Yea, a migrant!!!" rather than "Oh no, not again"  ::)
