lye bearing items must be made with some random ash type of ash
(you probably did so)
but the kicker here-lye goes in food stockpiles and may be designated for a haulling task.
It counts as a liquid

10 value per goblet x 40x multiplier for platinum x 3 goblets = 1200 total

Not to mention a possible quality multiplier.
☼Platinum goblet☼ = 10☼ * 40 * 12 = 4800☼ for a single goblet. So 3*4800☼ = 14400☼ from a single platinum bar.

All in all, soap's not really worth the effort. :)

A piece of masterpiece Dragon tallow soap is worth 15000. 25*50*12

Also you can't build roads and constructions out of goblets.

speaking of valueble, i should tell my stonecrafter to make native gold into goblets, instead of masterwork obsidian stuff
