Something that's bothered me ever since I first became aware of this game's existence is just what the Hell does a purring maggot look like, anyway? Even though I've never personally seen a hoary marmot or a giant cave spider in real life, I can pretty much guess what they're supposed to look like. But purring maggots? My best guess is that they're like a sort of cat that doesn't have any legs, and just squirms from place to place, but I could be way off.

It doesn't necessarily have to be mammalian milk, it could be some sort of secretion.

Like ants and the aphids/mealybugs that they 'farm' for the honeydew secretions.
