Gather impressions
« on: August 06, 2008, 08:24:50 am »

Since i've started to play DF, i've collected many pics about dwarven living. I use them for personal impressions and bigger and better motivation. Now i wanna share some of my favorites with you.
They are all taken from the 'Warhammer Dwarven Army Books'. I hope that you can use them for better imagination and visualization when you play your next DF game.

EDIT: Sorry, but i removed the pics from this thread. (See Aqizzar's and Samyotix's hints about copyright).

I always see my dwarves as having a tiny bit less detail, especialy on the bridges and stuff.

And no doodles on the axes, as in image #10.

Image 9 is exactly how I see the Dwarves.  Stout, pissed, walking along a pile of dead gobbos with an axe, a mug, and a cask of ale.

Erm. If they're from a Warhammer book, then Games Workshop has the copyright on them, and someone could get into trouble because you posted them here.

You are right but don't make me sweat. I dont know much about Internet-Forums-Laws but they are stored on private Webspace. I hope nobody gets into trouble. If Games Workshop has a problem with this then i will remove the pics for sure.

Gimli has been ecstatic lately. He talked with a friend recently. He admired a tastefully arranged statue lately. He was unable to find someone to talk about job security lately. He was sent to talk to the elves lately.

First person to build that chasm-spanning underground city in the first pic wins

Gamesworkshop dwarves are too serious for DF.  Any race's members that will gladly sacrifice themselves in order to retrieve a sock from the midst of a battle have to have a sense of humour.

You have no idea how protective Games Workshop gets about their copyrights, especially stuff from books.  They've filed injuctions and shut down forums for posting detailed stat lines.

I never liked the winged helms.  The miner's caps with candle holders though, that's nice.  I hope we get something like that in the Lighting Arc.

And I never noticed before, but does anyone else think Peter Jackson was going for a Klingon vibe there?
