This is my new fortress im working on, basic bunker is up, and the drowning room works. the economy is stable so I thought it was time for some wacky traps.

I was thinking about a wave generator on the paltform near the windfarm, but the wackier the better!

Wave generators are no good. In my current fort Ive got a 7x4x7 resevior that can be opened on the bottom to let water out, the idea being that it washes people into a carefully biult drainable deathroom. Pity it doest even move ANYTHING, like at all. (PS anyone know why this is?)

I propose weapon traps filled with blunt weapons to knowck gobbos off into the water.

On another note I approve of your sig, I thought I was the only one who liked hobgoblin.

Areas going from [0/7] water to [7/7] water instantly don't push things around, unfortunately.

Build a bigger, lower tank, i guess.

watermechanics in the game cause water to teleport from location to location
a raised flood area with a drain through the bottom instantly drains all the water

Not quite instantly, from my experience. I had a 7z level *large dimension water tank, with a 3*4 area under that with floodgates on one side in a .38 fort.upon opening the floodgates, it took about 15 ticks for the entire thing to empty apart from the bottom main level. Of course, that's nearly instantly ;)

Try this:

Build a fort with one purpose. A long deep channel for you to go into from one end with a lever halfway in the middle and a floodgate at the other linking to a river. Link it up but don't throw the lever. Abandon then go back as an adventurer to flip the switch. You should see the water push you back a lot.
