whats youre population cap?

well what is it,mines 500,i taught of going to 1000 but maybe later.

There's no way in hell any computer could support 500 dwarves, unless toady made multi-threading possible, which he most likely won't. Mine is 120.

I am on an old laptop, and I therefore lag even with 30... which is my limit.  SInce I also have a fondness for high peaks and such, 30 dwarves is dropping my FPS pretty low, to the 30-50 range.  Since I am impatient, I couldnt get things done fast enough, so I increased the speed of my dwarves, putting their speed at 200, until I had built my basic fort, at which point I changed it back because they were getting 5 attacks in when usually they would get 1.
