[38c windows] Human temple full of engravings of my dwar
« on: February 25, 2008, 03:15:00 pm »

I played a dwarven fortress for a few years, during which two artifacts were made: a tower-cap puzzlebox and a cow leather skirt, then abandoned it. When I wandered around a human temple as an adventurer immediately afterwards, the walls were covered with engravings of tower-cap puzzleboxes and small cow leather skirts. Seeing as the temple was (presumably) a lot older than my fortress, this doesn't quite seem right (not to mention the question of why the humans are so interested in dwarves' creations anyway).

Must have been a puzzle box of epic proportions: http://www.go-star.com/antiquing/pbox1.gif

Hi!

Strange, it should be fixed in 38c:

From the development page:

quote:
#  02/21/2008:
...
   * stopped coin and temple engravings from referring to future events
...

I think this could be your bug and then it is supposed to be fixed since 38b.

Maybe it needs a new generated world.

Yeah, I tested it out and didn't seem to be pulling any future events.  Was the save from before 38c?

The world was generated in .38a. Guess that's probably it then. I started the adventurer in .38c though.

I thought I handled to save compat correctly, but maybe not.  Anyway, let me know if this happens in a pure 38c world.  The year check is simple, so I dunno how it could screw up.

This bug is still occurring, found references to my dwarves' artifacts in a goblin temple in DF 40c.
