ambushed by shark on dry land...
« on: July 25, 2008, 11:09:31 pm »

So I was walking around on a beach in Adv Mode, and I decided to travel away.  When I went to the world map, I was standing on an ocean tile.  As I tried to move away, I was forced into a random encounter.  As it turned out, it was a shark.  Unfortunately, the shark spawned on dry land very far away from the water.  Oh, and it stood up too.

Anyways, sorry if this is an old bug (surely someone has seen it before)... I couldn't find it by searching the forum though.

Fish stand up all the time, so that one's relatively known about.

It's because walking and swimming operate under the same principles, (well, except for the use of the swimming skill and the possibility of drowning/suffocating) with people standing up moving faster, people lying down able to move through creatures.
Reminds me of the entry in the DevLog of the quest to kill a sea-monster "living" in a dry cave.

Man, is it sad that I actually remember that show?

LAND SHARK!!
I'm sure Misterstone just missed the part where the shark was knocking on doors claiming to be Avon, etc.

FYI, Land Shark references are the only reason I clicked this thread.

Hey hey hey.  I posted the pic.

Man, that show was awesome (and retarded).

Don't try watching it as an adult, most of our favorite cartoons just don't make sense (I couldn't even stand one episode of Freakazoid, but I still get a kick out of the intro).  Gargoyles is worth watching though (but they f*cked the Goliath Chronicles, I watched it, but the writing was terrible and they ended it prematurely just to be done with it, was very contrived).

Project GKR (or Project Geeker) was awesome, and exists as 13 very low quality .rm files, due to its cancelation by the Educational TV Act and was replaced by Wheel of Fortune.  Nothing it quite as humorous as an all-powerful super soldier with mophing capabilities, but the mind of a 4 year old.
