Crash when "finding desired location"
« on: July 23, 2008, 02:28:13 pm »

Heya, it's easily repeatable for me.  I generated a world, I didn't set any special options.  I hear something about having to set an option to make things visible? I didn't do that.

Anyhow, when I press "f", then select "Magma Pool", I get a DF error report and it closes. Here is my world gen info:

Created in DF v0.28.181.39d.

There's an interesting story in the history where a dwarf grows up and becomes leader of his group, then kills the demon leader that had been attacking dwarves and elves.  A few years later, he is killed by the demon's high priestess and his skin stretched on their fort.  He had many children, but only one remains...

I just created another world, but using the original world it doesn't crash anymore.  Not sure why that is.

I deleted region3 and restarted, but I can't reproduce this crash on region2 anymore.

What I'd done before: carried over my old region1 folder.  Created a new region2.  Went to Start Game, Dwarf Fortress, "f", arrow down to "Magma Pool" but not change anything.  Press Enter, crashes after 2-3 seconds.

After the second post I'm not sure I understand if it's still crashing for you.  I used those parameters, pressed 'f', looked for a magma pool, and didn't have a problem.  Was that still crashing?
