My first experience with Adventure Mode
« on: July 16, 2008, 03:36:57 pm »

I never played Adventure Mode, so I abandoned my last fort (~150 dwarfes) and choose "play now!" to find my abandoned fort. I haven't found it, but I know I'm in the right area:

"No.  That's disgusting."
I played with the keys and tried to eat vomit. Pansy human.

"[dwarf] vomits"
Each step I make, a bunch of dwarfs vomit. Each step.

"The Dwarf Baby slams into an obstacle!"
Might be related to the "The Dwarf Baby falls over." messages I got. At a certain point, the baby seemed to be more efficient and I got less vomit messages, but more baby messages (I removed the non-baby-messages.).

*cough* is it always like this when you try to explore your own fortress? And what the hell is going on?

Did you happen to build a massive staircase just outside your nursery? I'm picturing a dwarven baby playing "Slinky" with all the "falls over", "slams into an obstacle" messages.

I get that all the time. I think the baby slamming into things is due to the fact that their parent may be dead or might just be ignoring the baby. If you want a challenge, go to your meeting area and try to kill everyone there.

Or maybe a mechanic, if given enough time to prepare.

That's some serious cave adaptation there. Roll out the foamy green welcome mat!

I tried Brdn666 advice to kill everyone in the meeting room:

It is not that easy to kill 40+ champions defending my previous fortress...
