New version, new walls. new pipes?

I have a few ideas that would benefit from the application of pipes. new version so is this possible?

As far as I know pipes are still only used to construct pumps

Look, if pipes could be used to make pipelines, you would know.
If you're wondering whether it's in yet or not, it's not. The sheer outpouring of praise and scheming here on the forums would be unmistakable.

If pipes worked wouldn't that mean indoor plumbing.  :D

And new and inventive ways of flooding your fortress with your choice of magma, water, or both!   ;D

Man, if I had one control for magma, and one for water, I'd definitely need to color code them. Bauxite lever for lava and cobaltite lever for water. Hot and cold running DEATH!!

I once tried to build a system that filled my moat with either water or magma depending on which levers were pulled.

...it didn't end well.

fun fact: floodgates will spread fluid in EVERY direction, not just straight ahead!
