Do more chasm/magma pipe creatures spawn?

Title says it all really. It would be pretty fun if they did, cause then you could have a platoon of 'firefighters' in fireproof fire imp leather armor.

Nope. Sorry.

Might be one of the memory hacking applications out there that could create fire imps (or change all your stray cats into imps), but otherwise no dice. Seeing as how one of those bastards can get lucky and incinerate several dwarves with a bit of bad luck, it's usually a good thing.

Possibly through modding you could put a breed tag on one of the imps and let the magic fly.

Fire imps most certainly DO respawn.  At least, they did for me.  I know that chasm creatures and underground river creatures don't, but those imps just come crawling up out of the bottom of the world or something.  I've definitely killed them all and then had another one pop up to blow apart some glassworker.
