What the title says.   

Perhaps something as simple as showing a list of all a Dwarf's pets in the same screen that's used for assigning War/Hunting Dogs?  (v)->(p)->(e)?

I'm sooo sick 'n tired of trying to work out who has what dogs and still ending up with just one or two dwarves owning 'em all...

Yes, but when you're assigning war dogs (or other war animals) it would be useful to know, as you're assigning them, which animals a dwarf already has.  Adding this info to the 'v' -> 'p' -> 'e' screen would cut down on a lot of the annoyance of the current system.
