Ability to play as 'subjugated' race in adv mode.

So there are goblins and elves holding important positions in dwarf society. And some human civs are half made of elves.

So why can't you play as an elf/goblin from the dwarf or human civ which subjugated them?

T'would be a cool way to allow goblin adventurers in unmodified DF.

That makes me think of my current pocket world... Out of the five starting towns, three were human, and one each were dwarven and elven. But a few hundred years into history, one of the human civs took over the elf town. With this suggestion, I would be able to play one of three adventurer races, instead of being limited to two.
