1.6 Ghz (overclocked) AMD Athlon
512 MB of RAM @ some pathetically low speed
Geforce 5200 (Bleh)

2x2 maps with 50 dwarves and under @ ~100 FPS. Not bad.

I am definitely going to swap out my P4 chip for my Celron

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, though, don't. 1.7GHz P4 > 1.8GHz Celeron. Celerons are faulty Pentiums that Intel decided to make a little more money out of by selling them cheap. Which is why everyone in the industry is glad the Celeron finally died.

Don't worry, I actually did a little research after posting that and decided against it after all. I don't have a 1.7GHz P4 though it's a 1.5GHz. After looking up some info on it I realized that the 1.5GHz P4 would actually be better to stick with then the 1.8GHz Celeron. I found out that even though the P4 is only 1.5GHz it technically has more horse power then the Celeron.

Thanks for the warning though.

I usually play df on my ten-year-old computer. It has a P2 333MHz, 192 Mb ram and a Geforce 2MX. It works okay. Far from the best but df is still so good it's okay.

Fortunately with DF, the game just slows down rather than becoming unplayable as with most games, when you run them on a bad system.

On my computer it runs acceptably fast (although with only about 70 ish dwarves now) but with an occasional spike where everything slows to a crawl...but those don't last long, usually.
