Locating a flood source
« on: July 06, 2008, 07:07:02 pm »

I was in the middle of making a weapon and armor manufacturing fortress to get some good gear for Adventure mode, when I noticed some water in my workshop / mining area... Apparently it had been flooding for a minute or two, and I just couldn't see it because there were rocks in the way.

The thing is, there aren't any holes in the floor or ceiling for the water to come out of. So... Where's it coming from? I'm underneath an aquifer, so if I had somehow breached it at the sides this would make some sense, but all of the walls seem to be accounted for... Do aquifers occasionally occupy extra z-levels in a very small number of tiles? If so, is there any way to locate which tile the water is coming from? And is there any way to wall it off, or do I just have to seal off the whole area?

Here's a picture of the general area by the way, it's a bit outdated though.

Never mind, looks like I managed to build a wall over it... Which leaves about 25 possible locations. That was exciting. Now to get things back to normal...
